The Frisians have always traded extensively along the coast from Holland to Denmark. As sailors and whalers, they not only brought back pretty tiles from Holland to decorate their parlours, but the famous Frisian waffle is also said to have come to us this way - it is now our own speciality. The down-to-earth Frisians are also the guiding principle of our cuisine at the Pesel - you can sometimes find something special on the plate, but the clear, simple and uncomplicated line is indispensable.
